About

Originally from Palm Valley, Texas, I left the Rio Grande Valley in 2001 for west Texas to pursue an undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University. After graduation in 2005, I went on to Baylor University and completed my Masters in 2007 in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have spent the last decade working in the Fort Worth area in acute, inpatient and outpatient hospitals. Recently, I have made the transition to a consultant position in dysphagia assessment and medical management for the entire DFW area. I plan to pursue my Board Certification as a specialist in dysphagia in the next several months.

In addition, my role as Co-Chair for the TSHA Medical Committee has kept me busy, preparing for the to take the lead at a Forum for Medical SLP’s to take place during our annual TSHA Convention, as well as hosting a social mixer for the attendees following. My passion for my work shines bright, but the love for my family will always come first. I have a loving, dedicated husband (Jon), sweet-spirited daughter (Sloan, 5), energetic son (Cal, 2) and lovable Great Dane (Tess, 6). We love to spend our time with our closest friends, family and exploring our beloved city of Fort Worth!
