Carol B. Fleming

Carol is a speech language pathologist working at Pulaski Heights Middle School within the Little Rock School District in Arkansas. An ASHA Fellow, Carol has received numerous awards for her clinical contributions, leadership, and service to her state speech/hearing association and ASHA. Her most recent award was the Dorothy Dreyer award for volunteerism. She is the current Coordinator for SIG16 (School-based Issues) and serves as a STEP Mentor for ASHA. Carol received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Central Arkansas prior to beginning her career in healthcare. She worked for eight years in a rehabilitation hospital and skilled nursing facility before transitioning to her current employment position in the schools. Carol has advocated for legislation at the local, state and national level. As a parent of a special need adult, she is reminded daily of the importance of advocating on behalf of the professions and those served which has fueled her passion for advocacy, leadership, and professional issues. Her goal is to get others to become involved, speak out and be heard.
